Usually Trend Hungry Tuesday is all about the latest celebrity style so we gotta tie it back to the big red-carpet event from over the weekend, The American Music Awards. One trend I noticed a number of A-list ladies wearing was sequins.

The night’s hostess with the mostess, Jennifer Lopez first took the stage in a pink ombre-sequined style.  Nicki Minaj also opted for pink, stepping out in a sequin gown that accentuated her hourglass figure with gold-shoulder details, shoulder pads, and cutouts.

Try a sequin style for an upcoming holiday party, like Selena Gomez who shined in a red, backless sequin dress.

Let yourself have your own red-carpet moment during this celebratory season (perhaps to an upcoming gala, wedding, or rockin’ New Years Eve Party) and rock this trend in a designer dress. Rent the Runway is offering 25% off orders over $75 placed on Black Friday. Check out the designer sequin dresses they have to choose from.

{ Press } ‘Philly Style’ Mag Guesses My Lipstick Shade

So I just found myself on Philadelphia Style Magazine’s blog. The article: “How to Wear This Season’s Boldest  Lip Colors.” The picture they featured of me was from a recent outfit post (I need to remember to wear that vest more!) that I shared on Instagram. It was a cool surprise to see myself in an article that I clicked on to read, but that wasn’t the coolest part.

They guessed my exact lip shade! Mind. Blown. Yup, the color the writer recommended to get the look was in fact the one I was wearing! The shade, you ask?  It’s Smashbox Infrared Matte Legendary Lipstick.

I grabbed my makeup bag to double check and yup, spot on, and just in time. I especially love this lip shade as we move into the holiday season.

Fall fashion tips

Three reasons to love a red lip …

1. They make your teeth look whiter. For real! And if you got a shade you don’t love then you can return it. Look for a red with a blue undertone.

2. It adds color. A red lip can literally take you from feeling plain to positively glam. Did you go light on the eyes and cheeks? Then a simple red lip can liven up the complexion and break up a neutral outfit.

3. It dresses you up. I especially enjoy a red lip on bad hair days. The color makes it look like you put in some effort and draws attention to the smile, perfect for holiday gatherings and celebrations.

{ Trend Hungry Tuesday } Little Winter-White Dresses

The little black dress has been a style staple for a long time. The little white dress, it’s just as versatile and fit for the season. Just take a note from some famous fashionistas.

Jennifer Lawrence wowed in a a custom white gown with gold beading details last night to “The Hunger Games Mockingjay — Part 2″ premiere in LA.  Beyoncé recently wore a white dress to a wedding and had Blue Ivy in a coordinating white dress with tulle.

Gwen Stefani rocked some white couture ensembles for InStyle Magazine’s December issue. Reese Witherspoon and Selena Gomez opted for little white dresses to recent events, as did Kris Jenner for her 1920’s themed birthday party.

{ Dare To Wear } Ripped Jeans + Space Dye

There’s a new style find on repeat and a new blog photoshoot to go with it. I’m extra excited to share these next few outfit posts for a few reasons.

1. It was the first time we did a street-style shoot.

2. The location was absolutely fabulous. It was on Kings Highway East in Haddonfield, NJ, which is a really cute area with lots of little shops and places to eat.

3. I’m wearing an item you may recognize if you watch me on QVC or follow on Instagram. It’s a space-dyed, zip-up cardigan with faux-suede sleeves from LOGO by Lori Goldstein. I fell in love with it and decided to treat myself to the shale shade and have been wearing it a ton. Here’s one of the many ways.

{ Style Tips }

1. Dress up ripped jeans with heels. I recently found this pair at DSW and love that they’ve got cool details, but are understated, making them extra versatile.

2. Wear your sweater as a jacket on when it’s weather appropriate If you live in a hotter climate then you get this luxury often. Soon it’ll be snowing, so while there are still some nice days I’m taking advantage  — hence this fabulous space-dye sweater as the outer layer and exposed knees.

3. Add tights under ripped jeans. I didn’t do this in these pics, but plan on it as the temps drop. I’m just not read to retire this style just because I live it a cooler climate.

4. Red lips dress up messy buns + make your teeth look whiter. Plus it’s a great shade for around the holiday season, which is pretty much here already (stay tuned for present picks & DIY gift ideas coming to the blog soon!).

{ Dare To Wear } Witchy Layers

A long vest + wide-brimmed hat may not feel like the most wearable, everyday pieces, but they can be. The most amazing outfits, meals, and art would never happen if people we were too afraid  to try due because of what people thought. It can be easy to get into a wardrobe rut or even a life rut by worrying about the outside perspective. News flash! It’s all about you. Continue Reading
